Dear Local Leaders, Friends, and Neighbors,
In 2026 we celebrate 24 years that the Trumansburg Farmers’ Market has brought local growers, artists & crafters, food entrepreneurs, and the area’s best musicians to our Village Park. As our Market continues to grow and change, we need new ways to support our local community. Three years ago, we introduced our indoor Winter Market and transitioned the Harvest and Holiday markets indoors, too, transforming the colder months into a vibrant gathering place for local vendors and the community. We are so proud that the Tburg Farmers’ Market provides a safe, welcoming, vibrant community space all year long!
The 2026 season is well underway with the winter market, hosted at the American Legion. We’re eagerly anticipating our outdoor season and we have exciting news to share. This year, along with the offerings you know and love, we have created a new Community Nourishment Program to support those in our community who may be most impacted by current economic hardship (more details in the attached material).
To expand the ways we can serve the market and the community requires a new way to raise funds beyond the limited advertising sponsorships allowed by the Village. We have launched a new organization - Friends of the Trumansburg Farmers’ Market - that will work in partnership with the Village committee that oversees market operations. Friends of TFM will support the market’s music program, the Community Nourishment Program, and other educational/recreational initiatives. Friends of TFM is partnering with a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Pathways to Equity, to accept donations that are tax deductible for our donors. This partnership also enables us to apply for grant funding.
Both the Farmers’ Market Board and Friends of TFM are powered by volunteers who bring together the music and other community programming that define the market experience. All sponsor support goes directly into these programs. We hope you will consider supporting the Trumansburg Farmers’ Market. Your generosity sustains a treasured institution of culture and community right here in our own backyard.

At the heart of the Trumansburg Farmers’ Market is a simple belief: everyone deserves access to fresh, nourishing food and a welcoming place to gather. Making this happen takes more than tents and tables.
While the Village of Trumansburg generously handles day-to-day market operations, your support helps sustain other essential pieces of what we offer: weekly music on the market stage, our Community Connections programs, and the new Trumansburg Community Nourishment Program, which provides meaningful food assistance to neighbors in need.

Individual/Community Giving
Individual donations can be made directly to one of the programs listed below or can be utilized for the broader needs of the Market - including supplies and resources, the Bird & Pollinator Garden, Community Connections programming, and other essentials that keep the Market welcoming and thriving for everyone. If you want to direct your donations to a specific program, all you have to do is make note on your check!
Music at the Market Sponsor
Our local musicians are paid for the time they share their talents with the Market each week, bringing energy, connection, and joy to our community. A $150 Music at the Market sponsorship makes this possible - supporting local artists while recognizing you in our weekly social media post and on our Music Sponsor Board at the Market.
Sponsor a day (or a few!) as an individual, family, group, or business, and dedicate it in honor or memory of someone special.
Trumansburg Community Nourishment Program
The Nourishment Program helps support our community on multiple levels—helping neighbors access fresh food and local goods, while ensuring local farmers and vendors thrive. The program supports families stretching tight grocery budgets, single parents struggling to feed their children, seniors on fixed incomes, individuals navigating temporary hardship, neighbors seeking healthier food options, and underemployed and unemployed people needing a helping hand. Additionally, this program will also benefit our local businesses and growers, as every dollar stays right here, strengthening our local economy and food system! The Trumansburg Community Nourishment Program will provide a set amount of “market bucks” at each market to any individual or family who needs it, as long as funds are available.
How To Make Your Contributions
We gratefully accept gifts of any amount. Every contribution, big or small, helps support the Market and our community. Donations may be made by individuals, families, community groups, or businesses and can be given in honor or memory of someone special.
Complete the attached Sponsor/Donor Commitment Form along with your check.
Checks should be made payable to our local partner, Pathways to Equity, Inc.
Write FBO (For The Benefit of) the Tburg Farmers’ Market, in the memo section.
If you’d like your contribution directed to a specific area (General Funds, Music, Nourishment Program, etc.), please note it. Undesignated contributions will support General Funds.

The Trumansburg Community Nourishment Program
We are happy to announce that starting with the Summer 2026 Market, we will be offering help for our community members facing food insecurity. Funded solely by the generosity of our community’s local businesses, the Trumansburg Community Nourishment Program, or TCNP, provides $25 in Market Dollars which are good at any of our Market Vendors. They spend just like cash (though are not redeemable for cash), and our hope is that they help bridge the gap for those of us in need.
If you are facing food insecurity, just come to to the Tburg Farmers’ Market, find the Manager’s Booth, and ask for Market Dollars. We will handle the rest. Market Dollars are reusable (and made to be water and tear resistant!) so please return any unused Dollars before you leave the market so that we can have them available for the next person who needs a hand.
